On Bahama and subtropical islands BOOBIES nest in colonies. They are very tenacious of property rights, fighting at slightest intrusion within certain distance of the homes. Rising from levels is difficult but once away their aerial control is marvelous. They "fish for fish" without unnecessary evolutions and impress the onlooker with the fact that it is a job not a pastime. A small flock coralled a school of mullett in a shallow area near Jewfish Bush Key, Florida. The battle was carried thru with extraordinary precision. One aggressor caught more than he could carry and despite valiant efforts was forced into a long slanting drop to the water. The battle cries were a hoarse series of quacks like a duck with a cold in its head.
