Curlew Sandpiper

This rare bird has been recorded twelve times in the eastern part of North America.

Popham collected the first eggs on the Yenesei delta in 1897 and commented on the bird's silence. In 1902 Walter found three sets on Kotelui Island, Siberia, describing them as "pale yellow green, handsomely marked with violet and deep rufus brown spots."
