Nuttall Woodpecker

When a Downy alights beneath a limb it starts tapping but NUTTALL WOODPECKER is said to turn often "like an inverted weather cock." They are quite pugnacious and attack birds up to the size of a Flicker and generally get the decision! With these exceptions their habits are quite similar to others of the genus.
