This Asiatic bird sometimes occurs on the Pribilof Islands in the Autumn. Nelson states they usually associate with Pectoral Sandpipers, sometimes in small flocks but single birds are often flushed. They are not shy, and fly with a twisting flight, uttering a short metallic pleep, pleep, returning near the spot where they arose after a circuitous trip.
Eastern Alaska. Casual in British Columbia and Washington.
