Whiteface Glossy Ibis

WHITEFACE IBISES are strong and powerful awing, closely resembling Longbill Curlews. At times flocks will ascend in graceful spirals hundreds of feet, then suddenly dive either as one bird or singly — in regular English Snipe erratic plunges. When within a few yards of earth they check descent with a humming spiral curve.

They eat nearly any form of low aquatic life and some shot by Bent had stomachs filled with earthworms.
