





ARCTIC TOWHEES do not differ materially in habits from eastern birds except that they are shyer and less inclined to show themselves. If watched while singing they leave their perch and disappear in the underbrush, showing little of the vanity of other impressarios!

From southern Alberta and Forks of Saskatchewan, to eastern Colorado, to southern Texas. Casual to Illinois and Wisconsin.

From British Columbia and eastern California, east to Wyoming, Colorado, New Mexico and western Texas.
A tree up to 40 feet high, distributed on borders of streams, from Sacramento River Valley, California, southward to northern slopes of Tejon Pass.
