Southern Arizona. Breeds mainly in Transition zone from mountains of southern Arizona south into Mexico.

A 100-foot tree, with 3- to 4-foot trunk, distributed at an altitude of 6,000–7,000 feet on the mountains of southern Arizona where it sometimes forms pure forests.
