Holboell states that GYRFALCONS are the most abundant Falcon in Greenland where they breed in January! They were only moderately swift in flight and repeatedly failed to catch his tamed pigeons. He mentions seeing one with a young Kittewake in each foot. They migrate southerly from September to November and are often seen fighting Ravens and are then less wary than usual.
