Blackbill Cuckoo

Coccyzus erythrophthalmus

Lovers of warmth, the BLACKBILLS wait until all danger is over from Old Man Winter's backfiring: when they reach New England, summer really is with us. They are more conservative than even the delicate Veeries, and May is far advanced before they come.

In habits and breeding they do not differ from other Cuckoos.
