Cinnamon Teal

Querquedula cyanoptera

In habits and mannerisms the CINNAMON TEAL does not differ from its two brothers except that the spirit of play is more pronounced. One of their "games" is said to be a sort of marine leapfrog where the males flip over one another's backs and scurry around as if "tagging."

Finley states that these birds are more abundant than Mallards or Pintails in parts of southern Oregon where they are found breeding in Malheur and Klamath Lake region.

BREEDING

NEST: well built of woven grass, lined with down and feathers: located in tall reeds near water.

EGGS — 8 to 12: creamy white.

RANGE
