Couch Kingbird

Tyrannus melancholicus couchi

There is as little difference in habits between COUCH and Arkansas Kingbirds as there is in coloration. What is written of one applies to the other.

BREEDING

NEST: a fairly well-constructed affair of twigs, bark and grass, located usually not over 30 feet up in trees.

EGGS: 3 or 4; similar to the following species.

Valley of Lower Rio Grande, Texas.

A tree up to 80 feet high, distributed on banks of streams in southern Arizona and southwestern New Mexico.
