Pitangus sulphuratus derbianus

The occurrence of this large and handsome bird within our borders is so rare that little is known of its habits.

BREEDING

NEST: a large thick-walled structure roofed with lateral entrance, in trees near ground.

EGGS: 4 or 5; creamy white sparingly spotted with dark brown.

RANGE

Lower Rio Grande Valley, Texas.
