This is one of the rarest of our small Owls. Altho isolated records show the range is extensive, little is known of its habits.
From southern British Columbia, Washington and Idaho south thru western Texas, Colorado, New Mexico, Arizona and California.
A slender tree about 25 feet high, distributed in Texas and forming thickets in the mesas south of the lower Rio Grande.
