Goldencrown Sparrow

Zonotrichia coronata

When the chinook blows warm and carries Pacific mists against Alaskan shores, the GOLDENCROWNS move leisurely north. They love rain-shrouded valleys and cheer these lonely spots with their clear whistling songs. Most birds are tuneful in sunlight but Goldencrowns seldom sing except during rain.
