Masked Bobwhite

Colinus ridgwayi

The males are confiding handsome little fellows with the same cheerful call as our Bobwhite. Females are quite similar to Lady Bobwhite. They take less favorably to cleared lands and that, with an unfortunate habit of "bunching" when frightened, tends to decrease their numbers.

BREEDING

NEST: a shallow excavation on the ground under brush or grass shelter.

EGGS: 8 to 15. Pure white.

RANGE

Central southern border of Arizona.
