Altho primarily residents of the higher tablelands, the MEXICAN CHICKADEES sometimes wander into the coniferous forests of boundary states. They are the same lively and vivacious flecks of olive and black as our eastern birds, always on the firing line of the insect battle.

Nest and eggs similar to those of Chickadee.

Canadian and Transition zones in mountains of southern Arizona and southwestern New Mexico.

Usually a low spreading shrub but in moist situation attaining tree proportions — 25 feet. Distributed on bluffs and banks of lower Rio Grande, Texas.
