Pacific Golden Plover

Charadrius dominicus fulvus

Like its larger relative, the Pacific bird is capable of sustained flight, making the 2,000 miles going from the Hawaiian Islands to Alaska twice each year. Brandt states that the breeding area in Hooper Bay region is confined to a narrow belt well above brush line at an altitude of between 500 and 800 feet.
