In habits this Vireo closely resembles the Redeye, altho more retiring and with an abrupt pair of notes with rising inflection which distinguishes its song from that of its better known relatives.

RANGE

Eastern North America, north to southern British Provinces and from New Brunswick west to Michigan.

Ulmus americana

A tree sometimes reaching 125 feet high with a trunk 10 feet in diameter; distributed from Newfoundland to Lake Superior and the eastern base of the Rocky Mountains, southward to Florida and Texas.
