A beautiful tall round topped tree, branchless for 30 feet of its 80, distributed thru Kansas, Mississippi and Texas where it is the commonest Elm and attains its largest size in the bottom lands of the Guadalupe and Trinity rivers. The wood is hard and strong and is used in manufacturing furniture and fencing.
