Ross Goose

Chen rossi

This smallest of the Goose family, averaging about the size of the Mallard, should be named "Hearne Goose:" it was discovered and first described by Samuel Hearne about 1770.

Because of its straight bill and other structural characteristics it was made the type of a subgenus but finally came to its natural taxonomic niche among the Chens.

Similar to Snow Goose.

EGGS — 4 to 8: white.

Northern North America.
