Yellowbelly Flycatcher

Empidonax flaviventris

The retiring habits and inconspicuous color of these shy little FLYCATCHERS afford slight chance for intimate contact. As far as known their habits are quite similar to other members of the genus.

BREEDING

NEST: of moss and lichens, lined with fine grass and pine needles; located in fallen tree roots on shady mountain slopes.

EGGS: 3–5; white, finely spotted with chestnut.

RANGE

From central Canadian provinces south to western Texas. West to eastern border of Great Plains.
