





Little is known of the life history of this strongly marked Hawk. It lives among the cottonwoods of Texas and New Mexico and is said to dive in long curves down the desolate canyon walls.
NEST: of sticks, lined with leaves or Spanish moss, located on horizontal branches of trees near streams.
EGGS: 2 to 4; dull white spotted at large end with chestnut and brown.
Southern Arizona, New Mexico and southwestern Texas.
