Christopher Hoffman is a cellist, composer, and filmmaker. As a cellist, he has worked with luminaries such as Yoko Ono, Jack Antonoff, Iron & Wine, and Marianne Faithfull. He is a long-standing member of Henry Threadgill's ensembles. Most notably, he appears on Threadgill's "In For A Penny, In For A Pound" which was awarded the Pulitzer Prize for Music in 2016. His arrangement and performance of Mahler's A Minor piano quartet was used as the end credit music for Martin Scorcese's Shutter Island. Christopher has released seven records under his own name with favorable reviews from the New York Times, Downbeat, and Bandcamp. As a filmmaker he has directed many music videos and several short films. His most recent short, Salamander, will be screened at several festivals this fall and winter.
