Deborah Brasher (1936–2021), Rex Brasher’s grandniece, was a lifelong educator, historian, and scholar. She graduated with degrees in classical studies and history from Elmira College and Columbia University. Deborah worked tirelessly to preserve Rex’s artwork, document his life, and elevate his legacy. After retiring from the Renbrook School in West Hartford, Connecticut, having taught history there for decades, Deborah returned to the Chickadee Valley to spend her remaining years with her younger sister, Melode, in the Brasher home. Deborah was a founding member of the Rex Brasher Association and remained active until her death in 2021.
