“Our grandparents were close friends with Rex. It was my grandfather, Morris, who rebuilt the barn for the storage of the hand-colored prints that were sold as twelve-volume sets. Our aunt Marian and second cousin Elizabeth were among the apprentices who helped Rex hand-color all of those reproductions. I met Rex several times, going with Morris at least once when we rode horses together from our home to Rex's cabin. And, of course, our family has always had some of Brasher’s birds to enjoy!”
