Wanda Willmore has a distinguished career leading world-class residential, commercial, arts-related, and landmarked building renovations in New York City and beyond. Her early professional life working in Old San Juan, Puerto Rico, instilled a lifelong commitment to history, art, material culture, and its home in the natural environment.
Most of her professional career as project manager and associate with internationally recognized Selldorf Architects focused on presiding over projects for private clients, national institutions, and international art collections. Several extensive New York City landmarked and Mallorca, Spain, renovations for prominent cultural contributors are included among other ground-up projects in Colorado, Massachusetts, and Panama. Challenging, large institutional efforts include: overseeing delivery of the design vision for the Museum of Contemporary Art San Diego renovation and expansion, acting as client liaison for Neue Galerie, coordinating The Metropolitan Museum of Art Members Balcony Lounge fit-out, and guiding design for the education building and gallery spaces at Fundacio Per Amor a l'Art in Valencia, Spain-a private foundation linking art, social initiatives, and research. In 2022, Wanda began work as an architectural design consultant advising the Hudson Valley Writers Center as board member on their ongoing renovation program and serving as contributor to the Rex Brasher Association museum concept and master planning.
She contributes a rare level of experience in project planning, understanding context, delivering design direction, client engagement, and team building in architecture and interiors for some among those leading today’s cultural organizations.
